Q4 2023 US iOS Performance of Top Carpooling & Ridesharing Apps

As the year wrapped up, the top carpooling and ridesharing applications on the iOS platform in the United States showed varied trends in downloads and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here's how the leading apps fared in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Uber - Request a ride saw its downloads fluctuate, beginning at 300K in late September, dipping to 232K in late November, and climbing back up to 265K by the year's end. Weekly active users peaked at 9.5M in late October, with a noticeable drop to 7.5M by the last week of December.

Lyft experienced a similar pattern in downloads, starting at 190K and reaching a high of 197K in late October, before closing the quarter at 175K. The active users for Lyft reached nearly 3.9M in late October but saw a decrease to 3.1M by the end of December.

For Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, downloads began at 96K, with a dip to 71K in mid-December, and a slight recovery to 72K by the year's end. The weekly active users for the app showed more stability, starting at 1.97M and ending the quarter at 1.87M.

Lyft Driver downloads also saw some ups and downs, starting the quarter at 30K, peaking at 31K in late October and November, and ending at nearly 29K. Active user count for Lyft Driver was more consistent, with a starting point of 381K and ending slightly higher at 388K.

Bolt: Request a Ride, while having smaller numbers, showed a steady increase in downloads from 27K in late September to 29K by the end of December. Weekly active users for Bolt saw a gradual rise from 37K to 35K over the same period.
